Arazan, officially the Righteous State of Arazan, is a Salacene monarchy in eastern Imalea, bordering Qavandeht in the west, Khurun in the north, and Am Khea in the east. The country is a center of Salacene culture and philosophy, perhaps brought by its history as a world power under the Arazean Empire which lasted from XXXX to 1996. The Empire was also known for its historical rivalry with Qavandeht, particularly in matters of religion: Arazan, and much of its former territories subscribe to the Dav-i-Avat school of jurisprudence, compared to the Khordan-centered Kha-i-Naviyah.

The State is presently an elective theocracy, governed by a conclave of jurists (astagār) who elect the Jurist-Commander (amra-i-stagār, or amra) as the sovereign and Holy Custodian of the faith in the country (and in turn, the Davevatic theosphere). The current political system was established in the Avairashpa Revolt which abolished the long-standing Seven-Flame dynasties and established a militant and modernized political system.

Despite its formal association to the wider Salacene community and its declared allegiance to the Tenfold Prophecy, Arazan has been closer with the Hallegian Concord in matters of trade and security agreements, much to the consternation of the wider Zaruj-i-Navairah.

Arazan is a theocracy.
